Christian Story of the Day
Love is Greater Than Hate
During the Korean War, a South Korean Christian, a civilian, was arrested by the communists and ordered shot. But when the young communist leader learned that the prisoner was in charge of an orphanage caring for small children, he decided to spare him and kill his son instead. So they shot the nineteen-year-old boy in the presence of his father.
Later the fortunes of war changed, and the young communist leader was captured by the United Nations forces, tried, and condemned to death. But before the sentence could be carried out, the Christian whose boy had been killed pleaded for the life of the killer. He declared that he was young, that he really did not know what he was doing. "Give him to me," said the father, "and I'll train him."
The United Nations forces granted the request, and that father took the murderer of his boy into his own home and cared for him. Today the Young Communist is a Christian Pastor.

You Reap What You Sow #2
In the city of Philadelphia there was a little third class hotel. Into it one night there came two tired elderly people. They went up to the night clerk and the husband pleadingly said, "Mister, please don't tell us you don't have a room. My wife and I have been all over the city looking for a place to stay. We did not know about the big conventions that are here. The hotels at which we usually stay are all full. We're dead tired and it's after midnight. Please don't tell us you don't have a place where we can sleep."
The clerk looked at them a long moment and then answered, "Well, I don't have a single room except my own. I work at night and sleep in the daytime. It's not as nice as the other rooms, but it's clean, and I'll be happy for you to be my guests for tonight."
The wife said, "God bless you, young man."
The next morning at the breakfast table, the couple sent the waiter to tell the night clerk they wanted to see him on very important business. The night clerk went in, recognized the two people, sat down at the table and said he hoped they had had a good night's sleep. They thanked him most sincerely. Then the husband astounded the clerk with this statement, "You are too fine a hotel man to stay in a hotel like this. How would you like for me to build a big, beautiful, luxurious hotel in the city of New York and make you general manager?"
The clerk didn't know what to say. He thought there might be something wrong with their minds. He finally stammered, "It sounds wonderful."
His guest then introduced himself. "I'm John Jacob Astor." So, the Waldorf Astoria Hotel was built, and the night clerk became, in the years to follow, the best known hotel man in the world.
In 1976, the 47-story Waldorf-Astoria in New York City served three-quarters of a million guests in its 1,900 rooms.

Fake It
Till You Make It
This Christian Story tells of a Young Man named Henry Fawcett who one day accompanied his father on a hunting trip. The father accidentally discharged his shotgun, blinding his son in both eyes. The boy was just twenty at the time.Till You Make It
Before the accident, the son had been a bright, ambitious young man with a great future. No one would have blamed him if the accident had made him bitter and full of despair. And that was how it did seem to him at first. But there was one thing that saved him: he had deeply loved his father and knew that his father was nearly out of his mind with grief at what he had done to his son.
The only way he could save his father's sanity was to trust God and choose hope over terrible despair.
And that is just what he did. He pretended to be cheerful when he was not. He pretended to take an interest in life that he did not feel. He pretended to have hope that he could be a useful citizen, though he himself felt no such hope.
Then an odd thing happened. The pretense turned into reality. The result: Henry Fawcett was elected to Parliament. Later, at the Prime Minister's request, he became postmaster general, where he brought about great improvements in the English postal and telegraph systems. Remembered today... not for having been blind, but the Great Achievements he Wrought and the Great and Good and Godly Man that He Was.
There's a Little Lesson Here for us All!
Sometimes...
Usually In Fact...
God Gets His Greatest Victories Out of Seeming Defeat!
No Matter What Happens to You...
Trust Him...
And He Will See You Through!

No Matter What Happens to You...

And He Will See You Through!
With Time We See...

"I learn as the years roll onward,
And leave the past behind,
That much I have counted sorrow
But proves that my Lord was kind;
That many a flower I longed for
Had a hidden thorn of pain;
And many a rocky bypath
Led to fields of golden grain."

In Les Miserables.....
...Victor Hugo tells of Jean Valjean, whose only crime was the theft of a loaf of bread to feed his sister's starving children. After serving nineteen years, he was released from the galleys. Unable to find work because he had been a convict, he came to the home of a good old bishop who kindly gave him his supper and a bed for the night.
Yielding to temptation he stole the bishop's silver plates and slipped out, but was soon caught and returned. The kind bishop said, "Why, I gave them to him. And Jean, you forgot to take the candle sticks." Jean was astounded at such kindness, and this brought about his salvation. A little deed of kindness can turn a sinner to the Saviour.

Re: Christian Story of the Day
"McKinley's Choice"
President McKinley was considering the appointment of a minister to a foreign country. There were two candidates, their qualifications almost equal. Which one did he appoint? The President told the story of an incident which decided his choice. Years before, when he was a Representative, he boarded a streetcar one night & took the last vacant seat. Shortly afterwards an old washerwoman entered, carrying a heavy basket. She walked the length of the car & stood in the aisle, no one offering her a seat.
One of the men the President was to consider later, was sitting in a seat opposite where she was standing. He shifted the paper so as not to see her. Mr. McKinley walked down the aisle, picked up her basket of washing, & gave her his seat. The candidate never knew that this little act of selfishness had deprived him of perhaps the crowning honor of a lifetime.
It's the little things we do and say
That mean so much as we go our way,
A kindly deed can lift a load
From weary shoulders on the road,
Or a gentle word, like summer rain,
May soothe some heart and banish pain.
What joy or sadness often springs
From just the simple little things!
That mean so much as we go our way,
A kindly deed can lift a load
From weary shoulders on the road,
Or a gentle word, like summer rain,
May soothe some heart and banish pain.
What joy or sadness often springs
From just the simple little things!

Somehow We Forgot That!
Good Time To Remember!
Here's Something My Buddy Les Sent Me!
I think that you, just like myself, will be amazed with this short video. It is a Capital tour by the Pastor that I have told you about that is on with Glenn Beck. He is a scholar of the constitution, and I think you will begin to see what I am talking about when I say that there are those that are trying to destroy our very history, and trying to make us believe that God really did not play a big part in the founding of America, especially with the Founding Fathers. After watching this video please explain to me why it is now against the law to pray in school or even to talk about God in the classroom. The progressive movement is all about change. Placing man above God, in fact they laugh at the concept of a God, and mock the very idea of praying to a God. People like this Patriot are the types of people that I am learning from, and I am so thankful for them. I hope you will enjoy this as much as I enjoy sharing it with you. Les.

Re: Christian Story of the Day
DOES GOD EXIST?
This is one of the best explanations on the
nature of God that I have ever seen...
A man went to a barbershop to have his hair
cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began
to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: 'I don't believe that God exists.'
'Why do you say that?' asked the customer.
'Well, you just have to go out in the street to
realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people; would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would
allow all of these things.'
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer
left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.
The customer turned back and entered the barbershop again and he said to the barber:
'You know what? Barbers do not exist.'
'How can you say that?' asked the surprised
barber. 'I am here, and I am a barber. And I
just worked on you!'
'No!' the customer exclaimed. 'Barbers don't
exist, because if they did, there would be no
people with dirty long hair and untrimmed
beards, like that man outside.'
'Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens
when people do not come to me.'
'Exactly!' affirmed the customer. 'That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in
the world.'
