A Question on "Livin to Give" from your other site.
OK... well here's my question.
I saw your other site and one of the 1st articles was "Livin to Give." Click here to see the article. I don't mean to be critical because I really love your site... I love your outlook on things and everyones positive input. Just a fantastic witness, but from what seems to be a pretty right on and conservative site came that piece and I didn't get it. "They that preach the Gospel shall Live of the Gospel". 1 Corinthians 9:14 Nothing wrong with receiving support for getting out the witness, but that article made it sound like it was wrong for taking money when you preach the gospel. Maybe I'm taking it wrong and I was wondering if someone could just explain it to me. Thanks for your time and answer.

Re: A Question on "Livin to Give" from your other site.
Hey Fred I'll give your question a run. That article was written by Peter when he started this site and if you know anything about him he has seen more than his fair share of sharletons and scumbags who have used people and used a venir of righteousness from the Gospel to help themselves and improve their situation.
Kind of Cart Before the Horse type of deal. You will find many wealthy preachers here quoted and You Tubed and held up as great examples of sincere men of God. But if you look at them you will see that they sought 1st the Kingdom of God and then all those things werre added unto them... not visa versa.
As I understand it the main message of that article was sincerity and not the promotion of being poor or the idea that riches were wrong. Nobody here lives in the dream world where money doesn't matter or count. But most of us here also know that many a man has been polluted to use the gospel to justify his own actions and justify doing anything to get what he or she wants.
This is my take on it and Peter will probably get in here to comment later, but I did want you to know that there was reason to that article and a purpose for it being at the top of the page. Hope that helps.

Re: A Question on "Livin to Give" from your other site.
Hey Fred Great to have you on the sight!
So sorry if that page wasn't so clear, but Tom pretty much explained it. Not really here for self promotion, but to reach the world. If God blesses any of us with a wad of cash that is secondary to the 1st Goal of Getting Out the message of the Lord's Love and Gift to the World. Only One Life will soon be past... Only what's done for Christ will Last!
As Tom pointed out I have seen a lot of really heartbreaking samples of folks who have used the Gospel for their own selfish means... and trust me they were pretty mean and heartless... lifeless and Christ-less people. Makes me want to puke just thinking about them. Therefore when I determined to start this site with a few others like Tom I was down and determined it would not be used for personal gain or become a stepping stone for leading folks awry. At least that is my prayer and hope!

That article on "Livin' ta Give" is why I signed up. Showed me the folks here were sincere.
