After the Earthquake
A Few Hours Ago a Massive Earthquake Hit off the Coast of Japan. 8.9 on the Richter scale and Off the End of the chart on the Japanese Scale. It Was followed by a massive Tsunami that has Caused Billions and Billions of dollars of damage and taken an unknown number of lives... probably in the tens of thousands.
Through it all we are fine and we wanted to thank you for your prayers for us and ask for your continued prayer for this country and it's people. Trying Times are times for trying and the one thing we can do is pray! The Fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. So Please pray!
Thank you again for all your faithfulness and help! It means so much to us all!

In the Midst of the Storms
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“...He sends rain on the just and the unjust alike”
(Matthew 5:45, NLT)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
We all have opportunities to get upset and live stressed out. The storms of life come to every person. No matter how good a person you are, you’re going to have some “rain” in your life. When these storms come, a lot people use their faith to try to control their circumstances. But I’ve found it’s better to use my faith to control myself in the midst of my circumstances. I know that if I can just remain stable in the storms of life and stay in peace, that’s what allows God to act on my behalf.
God never said that we wouldn’t have difficulties, but He did promise we could have peace in the midst of the storms. When you face adversities, one of the most powerful things you can do is simply stay calm. When you are at peace, you are displaying your faith in God. By your actions you’re saying, “God, I know You’re still on the throne. I know You’re bigger than this problem.” So keep peace in the midst of your storms today. Trust that He is working behind the scenes. Keep your heart open to Him because soon He will deliver you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, thank You for peace in the midst of the storms of life. I choose to hold my peace knowing that You are working behind the scenes. I trust You, I trust Your timing, and I trust that You are working everything together for my good because You love me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Re: After the Earthquake
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“...We went through fire and flood, but You brought us to a place of abundance”
(Psalm 66:12, NLT)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
In scripture, three Hebrew teenagers, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, were told to bow down to the king’s idol or they would be thrown into a fiery furnace. They said, “No, King. We’re not going to bow down. We know our God will deliver us.” Their attitude was, “We’re not worried about it. We know we have inside information. We know everything is going to be alright.” Notice they didn’t fight it.
They weren’t upset. They weren’t complaining. They were at peace. They knew God Almighty had His hand upon them. The guards threw them into the fiery furnace, and when all was said and done, they came out without even the smell of smoke on them!
Notice that God didn’t deliver them from the fire; He delivered them through the fire. Maybe you are going through the fire today. Know that God is with you. He’s doing a work in you, and He’s displaying His glory through you. Remember, on the other side of the fire is a place of abundance and blessing! Stand strong and see the fulfillment of the promises He has in store for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, thank You for delivering and saving me. I stand strong no matter what I may be facing, knowing that You are with me. Thank You for protecting me through the fire and for leading me to the place of abundance and blessing You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God Bless Miki! They sure are thankful for their wonderful daughter.
I think everyone is a bit on edge with all the aftershocks, power problems etc. but God is in control and everything is going to be fine. Most important being, having a solid faith and trust in the Lord. He is the rock that stands and guides through every storm!

Re: After the Earthquake
Hi Miki,
Here is a devotional by Bob Gass that might help.
A Better Tomorrow
''...To bestow... beauty instead of ashes...'' Isaiah 61:3
The Chinese have an interesting symbol for the word 'crisis'; it indicates both danger and opportunity. When the stakes are high and the outcome in doubt, purpose can emerge from pain like beauty from ashes. But real healing can't begin until you face the facts and express your pain. That means doing what David did: taking it to God. 'How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart?...' (Psalm 13:2 NIV). Just as lancing a boil is a necessary first step to healing, facing the truth is the first step towards becoming whole. Those who grow through a crisis learn which hopes, dreams and expectations were violated by the event. They identify where the repair work is needed, then they develop a road map for the future.
At first you will feel as if 'nothing will ever be the same again'. That's normal. You may have to make adjustments in how you work, where you spend your leisure time, and how you relate to your family and friends. It's the nature of a crisis to destabilize your world. But it also forces you to reach deep within yourself and find hidden strength you didn't know existed. You may not feel courageous or hopeful right now, but that doesn't mean those things aren't there waiting to be tapped. Even though you don't feel strong today, you can draw strength from the One who is. 'The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress, and my Deliverer; my God... in Whom I will trust...' (Psalm 18:2 AMP). Face it. Find God in it. Follow Him, and He will give you a better tomorrow.

Re: After the Earthquake
Peter, Miki, Connie... all you folks over in Japan. God Bless You! God must really be trying to shake Japan up. When I was a boy and bein' pretty ornery, my Dad would give me a good shakin' ... rattle my eye teeth a bit, but it got through to me and helped straighten me out. Trust when the dust settles all will be right in God's good plan. We're all prayin' for you! God Bless each of you.

Re: After the Earthquake
Hey Joejoe, God Bless. God shakes us all up sometimes and in this case even a whole country, but it's not just to shake us, but as you said... to help us. You remember when you first came on the site and you had broken your leg... well it was the Lord working in your life to draw you closer to him. After you realised that, He gave you a better job and has really made you a great blessing to many. Same here in Japan... by the grace of God... it's going to make Japan a better place.
Our primary mission now is healing and encouragement. I believe it even talks in Rev about a tree whose leaves is for the healing of the nations... well Japan needs healing now. We stand United with Japan to learn from this... to grow from this and to be victorious through all this.
I have shared with you the story of the Hanshin Earthquake in Kobe, The greatest result from that was that the people in Kobe were transformed into some of the most sincere and sweetest people on God's good earth. Also Kobe is now one of the most pristine and beautiful cities in the world.
The destruction of that earthquake was horrible, but the end was truly beauty for ashes. God Bless you Joejoe and everyone that is fighting this battle with us. By The Grace of God We and Japan Will Emerge Victorious!

Hope for a new day and hope that these sad times will help many turn to God. please pray for Japan. Your cherry blossom picture was so much the right picture that shows new day and hope. Re: After the Earthquake
Now almost 2 months after the event Japan is starting to get back on it's feet. We wanted to take a moment to thank all of those who have quitely helped and supported us in prayer and needs. You have made the difference and we are here today because of you. Most of you we have written personely, but for those we might have missed and those who have just been viewing the site as guest we wanted to say how much we treasure what you have done! God's Mercy on All of Us! Thank You! The Battle's Not Over, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel! God Bless Each of You!

Re: After the Earthquake
Peter when I first heard about the Tsunami there I concluded God was just judging the country and they deserved it, but as time has gone on and I've read yours and others posts I've seen how God was working to make Japan more receptive and that it was an action to help Japan grow closer to God.
Please know that we are praying for you all there and for victories to reach the country with the gospel. Sure respect that you all stuck by your guns and didn't run.
